Great extension. One bug in the latest release: the options don’t stick; I can check the box to always open docs in a new tab and hit save, but it doesn’t stick… when I go back to preferences, it remains unchecked.

This is a great idea just need to tweak it. When I drag text over, the spacing between paragraphs is lost and I end up having to insert carriage returns after every paragraph in order to get back to what it looked like on the web. I’m using Firefox - anyone else experiencing that?

Hello from Germany,
maybe I am doing somthing wrong, but the actions menu does not seem to work. For example, if I click New Document, nothing happens!!
Please help, because I love your app. And I think the the new templates are just great. One more question on the templates: Can I choose a document in GDocs as an template or do I have to upload an file?

Just updated to the latest version of the gDocsBar plugin and it seems to still be having problem with complex passwords. I tried two accounts from my browser, one simple password which works and the other complex which doesn’t work. My complex password is 13 characters and contains upper/lower, numbers, and special characters.

Nice extension!
Is it possible to make it compatible with Firefox 3 ?
It says that the extension does not provide secure updates, and if pass through it (put extensions.checkUpdateSecurity to false in the about:config), the login does not work.

Hi. I think I wrote before, but I can promise I’ll write again.

The Google Docs Bar is just so perfect. I use it continuously, throughout the day, at work (I’m an editor) and home (I’m a writer) and in between (indirectly — I read web clips on my phone with the mobile Google Docs). The web clips thing is genius, and it’s wonderful to have that “create new doc” option — to me that was the one thing that was missing.

Maybe someday we’ll be able to right click on documents in the menu and perform actions on them, like file them in folders. That’d be very helpful.

Also, it’d be nice to have options to not display the dates and the folders on docs in list view, since then so many more docs would be visible.

Just downloaded gdocsbar. Its pretty cool - but the Actions->New->Document link doesnt seem to do work - nothing happens.

Also it possible to have the toolbar startup with a particular folder selected?

Great extension! I am using Google Docs more and more and this is a great way of keeping track of them.

Just one thing: the add-on does not seem to automatically update. I have version 0.5.5 and when searching for an update it does not find 0.5.6.

Still got some issues with 0.5.6:

- Clicking ‘Save’ in preferences doesn’t - have to click OK instead
- Right click still opens document as well as context menu
- ‘Filter by’ in context menu doesn’t seem to do anything - just puts @author in the filter box

Hope these can be fixed - would really like to use this instead of the GDocs home page…

This is one of the best extensions I have ever used! I don’t use the google notebook extension any more! This is much better. The only thing is that sometimes images don’t show up, but I am mainly concerned about the text anyway. Great Job!

Like several others have posted here, I’m finding that some of the functionality in gDocsBar just isn’t working at all. I’m using 0.5.6 in FF2.0.0.12 under XP SP2.

1. Of all the tabs, only the filter/search tab works. The Upload/Completed tab has beside it a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, clicking on this toggles between the two tabs but clicking on the tabs doesn’t. I can’t filter on doc types using tabs either.

2. Of all items in the Actions menu, only ‘Go to Google Docs Home’, ‘Smart Folders’ and ‘Preferences’ work. I can get to Templates by going through Smart Folders & changing the tab there (so that’s actually _two_ tabs that are working) but if I select ‘Templates’ directly nothing happens.

Love the gDocs bar and your visual sense apparent on your website and the plugin.

I am using 0.5.6 on Firefox 2.0.0.13 on Windows. I can’t get the template feature to work for some reason. If I go to Actions->Manage Templates, nothing happens.

If I go to Smart Folders and click on the Templates tab from there, and then try to Add html files as templates, nothing happens.

Patiently waiting for a Firefox 3 update.

Fedora 9 moved to Firefox 3 Beta even after turning off the security requirement/https it says incompatible. I assume that it might be possible to install by modifying version numbers in the xpi or something?

So I’ve installed gdocsbar. I don’t see any sidebar. How do I start using it? If there is any guidance on the web site as to how to do this, it is is not immediately obvious. You might want to add a “getting started” help section…

OK, I figured out how to make the sidebar appear after gdocsbar is installed. This is non-obvious and could be better explained. Or make it the default setting to have the sidebar appear automatically on Firefox start-up.

After exiting out of the sidebar, how can I make it appear again (without restarting Firefox)?

Hi. gDocsBar is a great add-on, I love it. When I try to update it in FF3b5, it says that I cannot install it because it doesn’t provide secure updates. This is a new feature in FF3. This issue may be on my end so I’m still looking into it but I thought I’d let you know.

How3ever, as of about a wek ago it fails to load docs pages with an error:
Authorization required
